“Reversing Cartwheel”

Au Reversão is a versatile type of cartwheel that can be used as a floreio or an attack. It can be done using both hands, 1-hand or even no-handed. The basic principle of the cartwheel is that the momentum of the Meia Lua de Compasso kick is used to transfer the weight of the body onto the hands causing a flip onto the kicking leg. This is one of the first non-standard Capoeira cartwheels that I learned and it is still one of my favourite ones.
